About the Merredin Community Resource Centre

The Merredin Community Resource Centre (formerly known as Merredin Telecentre) is part of Western Australia’s longest running and most successful regional community services, the Telecentre program. Merredin CRC is a proud member of WA Community Resource Network (WACRN).
The Merredin community was fortunate to be home to the fourth Telecentre established in Western Australia on  March 31 1995. The Telecentre was located in the CY O’Connor College of TAFE premises, and was under the auspice of the Doorways Committee.
In 2002, the Merredin Telecentre was collated with Wheatbelt Development Commission (WDC) and relocated to a Shire facility that had been refurbished with funding sourced in a joint effort by the WDC and Telecentre. The arrangement was that both bodies were able to be based at the facility rent free for a period of five years. In 2007, the Telecentre (now Community Resource Centre) took the opportunity to relocate to the newly constructed Merredin Regional Community & Leisure Centre (MRC&LC).
After spending five years at the MRC&LC, the Merredin Community Resource Centre decided to move to a more prominent building located in the main street of Merredin. This building was formerly known as the Women's Rest Centre at 108 Barrack Street. The building has been renovated to suit the ever growing needs of the Merredin Community Resource Centre, and has definitely provided many benefits to the organisation.
We now have more of an ability to cater for the wants and needs of the community, and this is reflected in the growing utilisation of our services. We aim to continue to bring more community events and programs to Merredin and surrounding towns, and look forward to receiving the much needed support of other local organisations.
